In a separate incident, a flying object with a blinking light was sighted in the sky near Allahpir area of Poonch district on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Despite a thorough search by police and security forces, nothing suspicious was discovered on the ground, officials reported.

Meanwhile, in Punjab’s Amritsar district, the Border Security Forces (BSF) successfully recovered a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic drone from a harvested field in village Havelian. The recovery was made following intelligence provided by the BSF intelligence wing regarding the presence of a drone in the border area.
The BSF launched an immediate search operation, leading to the retrieval of the drone at approximately 05:35 pm. The recovered drone, identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, marks the second such incident within two days.
The previous recovery involved a drone carrying a packet of suspected heroin. On May 11, during the night hours, security forces observed drone activity in the border area of Amritsar. Subsequently, they tracked the drone’s movement and cordoned off the likely dropping zone.
At around 11:40 pm, BSF troops successfully recovered a small drone along with a packet of suspected heroin in a farming field in village Havelian. The packet, weighing approximately 498 grams, was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and equipped with a torch and a nylon loop.
These incidents underscore the ongoing efforts of Indian security forces to counter illicit activities facilitated by drones along the border. The BSF’s proactive measures in detecting and intercepting drones highlight their commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security interests.
