In the ongoing Phase 4 polling across 10 States/UTs, the Election Commission reports smooth proceedings nationwide. However, amidst Phase 4 elections, a startling incident has gripped attention. Voter turnout was recorded at 53% till 3 PM across the states and UTs that went into polls. State-wise voter turnout is as follows :

Meanwhile, in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, PM Modi delivered a fervent speech denouncing the Congress-INDI Alliance as unfit to govern, questioning their leadership capabilities. Significantly, among the 10 states and UT voting today, polling is underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, making it the first major election in Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, which granted special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. As many as 24 candidates are in the fray in the Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency.
