Collaboration in the transport and logistics sector is pivotal in facilitating trade between Bharat and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan’s exploration of utilizing Bharat’s Chabahar port for exports highlights the commitment to optimizing trade routes and reducing costs.
Recent negotiations have focused on operational details regarding Uzbekistan’s potential exports via the Chabahar port, a move that could streamline logistics and enhance trade efficiency. Currently, Uzbekistan employs a multi-modal transport system for exports, integrating land, rail, and sea routes.
Bharat’s investments in various sectors in Uzbekistan, including pharmaceuticals, amusement parks, automobile components, and hospitality, underscore the depth of economic engagement between the two nations. Notable projects include the establishment of an IT Park in Tashkent with Indian assistance.
The recent conclusion of the Third Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF) showcased Uzbekistan’s growing appeal as an investment destination.
The forum attracted over 2,500 participants from 93 nations, with agreements signed amounting to USD 26.6 billion, indicating robust investment interest in Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s participation in the TIIF highlighted Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering bilateral and multilateral investment cooperation. Over the past three years, the forum has evolved into a valuable platform for addressing critical issues and fostering innovative strategies for mutual benefit.
Bharat and Uzbekistan have established National Coordination Committees to oversee the implementation of mutually agreed projects and initiatives, ensuring effective collaboration between the two nations.
The enduringly robust ties between Bharat and Uzbekistan continue to strengthen, with the growing presence of Bharatiya industries and universities in Uzbekistan. Bilateral trade has reached USD 700 million and is poised for further growth, with both nations optimistic about reaching the USD 1 billion mark shortly.

Exports from Bharat to Uzbekistan span a diverse range of goods, including pharmaceuticals, foodstuffs, mechanical equipment, chemical products, and textiles. Conversely, Uzbekistan exports foodstuffs, construction materials, chemical products, metals, footwear, and other items to Bharat.
The collaborative efforts between Bharat and Uzbekistan extend to various sectors, from economic cooperation to cultural exchange, setting a positive trajectory for bilateral relations and mutual prosperity.
