In a recent video message on X, Naveen Jaihind, the ex-husband of Swati Maliwal, former chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), raised serious concerns about Maliwal’s safety.
Jaihind claimed that Maliwal’s life was in danger following an alleged premeditated assault at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
“I am Naveen Jaihind,” he stated, “and I have been receiving numerous calls from journalists regarding what happened to Swati Maliwal at the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence.” Jaihind clarified that he had been divorced from Maliwal for four years and had no recent contact with her. However, he asserted that the incident involving Maliwal was not isolated but was orchestrated, and now she was facing threats to her safety.

Jaihind expressed concern over the assault, suggesting that the perpetrator wouldn’t have acted without orders from someone else. He called upon Swati Maliwal to speak out, emphasizing, “What are you afraid of? Speak up, we are all with you. Her life is in danger.”
Confirmation by AAP Leader Sanjay Singh
Sanjay Singh, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, confirmed the assault on Swati Maliwal during a press conference. Singh revealed that Maliwal was assaulted at the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal’s personal assistant.
Singh condemned the incident, stating, “Yesterday, a condemnable incident took place.” He detailed that Maliwal had gone to meet Kejriwal at his residence, where she was allegedly subjected to misbehavior by Vaibhav Kumar.
Singh assured that CM Kejriwal had taken cognizance of the matter and promised appropriate action against the accused.
The incident came to public when Swati Maliwal herself accused Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary of assaulting her on Monday, the 13th of May.
She reportedly made a PCR call at 9:34 am, informing the Police Station Civil Lines about the assault at the CM House. Subsequently, Maliwal visited the police station, indicating her intent to file a formal complaint later.
The assault on Maliwal, a prominent figure in Delhi’s social and political landscape, has sparked outrage and raised concerns about the safety of individuals, particularly women, in positions of authority. The incident has prompted calls for swift and decisive action to ensure justice for Maliwal and to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
