Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Modi mocked Gandhi’s recent ‘khata khat’ remark, suggesting that the people of Raebareli, Gandhi’s constituency, would reject him.
During his speech at an election rally, Modi criticized the approach of the Samajwadi Party and Congress toward the nation’s development, likening it to a casual game. He demonstrated that those accustomed to palace life, like the ‘shehzadas’ of these parties, lack the understanding of hard work and tangible results.

The Prime Minister specifically targeted Rahul Gandhi’s election promise of transferring ₹1 lakh to the account of one woman from every poor household if the Congress wins the elections. He questioned the feasibility of such promises, suggesting they lack financial planning and foresight.
Echoing Modi’s sentiments, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also questioned the fiscal implications of Rahul Gandhi’s proposals. She raised concerns about the potential economic strain and whether such schemes were financially sustainable without burdening taxpayers or worsening the country’s debt situation.
Modi criticized the track record of the Congress and Samajwadi Party in governance, highlighting the lack of basic amenities like tap water during their rule. He contrasted this with his government’s achievements, boasting about providing drinking water to millions of families across the country.
