Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited Varanasi, where he recalled his mother during a public address. This was the first time he filed his nomination from the Varanasi constituency without her blessings.
Modi expressed his deep connection to Varanasi, saying he was called to the city by ‘Maa Ganga’, the holy river, and now feels adopted by her.
During his visit, Modi addressed the ‘Nari Shakti Samvad Program’, a program focused on women’s empowerment. He arrived in a specially designed vehicle and was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a roadshow. Addressing the crowd, Modi emphasized the importance of women in India’s development.
Modi highlighted that for the first time in Bharat’s history, women have been placed at the center of policymaking. He stated, “For the first time in the country’s history; mothers, sisters, women have come at centre stage of policymaking…this is an important factor in India’s success story…You tell me, when the house cannot run without you, how can the country be run without you? This thing was not understood by the governments for 60 years. The Congress and SP governments gave only neglect and insecurity to women,” he said.
