On Friday more than 100 people have been killed in a landslide in remote Papua New Guinea, according to the media reports.
Reportedly, the landslide hit Kaokalam Village in Enga Province, about 600 kilometers (370 miles) northwest of the South Pacific island nation’s capital Port Moresby about 3 a.m. local time.
According to the residents current estimates of the death toll is above 100, but authorities have not confirmed this figure.
As per the villagers the number of those killed could be much higher. Locals could be seen pulling out buried bodies on the social media platforms.
