The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded repolling at many booths in the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district.
The BJP has alleged that malpractices were carried out during the voting process. Furthering the attack, BJP IT department chief Amit Malviya alleged that CCTV cameras are placed at the polling booths in such a manner that it doesn’t capture the area where EVMs are kept.
Malviya hinting at election rigging, said that the CCTVs are deliberately positioned to not record anything in the polling booths of Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency.
CCTV camera in a polling booth should be put in a manner so that it gets a complete view of the room, particularly the point where EVM is kept, so that any attempt to cast fake vote or rig the election, using unfair means, is captured.

‘CCTV camera in a polling booth should be put in a manner so that it gets a complete view of the room, particularly the point where EVM is kept, so that any attempt to cast fake vote or rig the election, using unfair means, is captured’, said Amit Malviya in a post on X.
‘But in the famed Harbour model, CCTV cameras are positioned, such that they capture nothing. This is how Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and heir apparent contests and wins election. What is deeply worrying is that a thoroughly contests and wins election. What is deeply worrying is that a thoroughly compromised bureaucracy steps up to serve his malignant intent. There is no semblance of free and fair election in West Bengal’, the BJP added.
