According to NIA findings, Riyaz had returned to Bharat from abroad under the direction of Abdul Rahman, an absconding accused in the case. Riyaz, along with Mansoor Pasha, provided logistical support and shelter to Mustafa Paichar, who was identified as the chief conspirator in the murder. Paichar, the secretary of PFI Puttur district, orchestrated the hit on Nettaru and subsequently evaded authorities.
Mustafa Paichar was finally apprehended by the NIA from Sakleshpura, Hassan district, Karnataka, on May 10, along with Mansoor Pasha. The agency, which took over the investigation on August 4, 2022, has filed charges against 21 individuals involved in the case.
However, several suspects are still at large, prompting the NIA to intensify its efforts in tracking down the remaining fugitives.
The arrest of Riyaz represents a significant step forward in bringing justice to the victim’s family and ensuring accountability for those responsible for this heinous crime.
The NIA continues its relentless pursuit of justice and remains committed to apprehending all individuals involved in the murder of Praveen Nettaru.
