After handing over the resolution to dissolve 17th Lok Sabha to the President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left from Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the Union Council of Ministers tendered his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 6.
The President accepted the resignation and requested the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers to continue in office till the new Government is formed.

Meanwhile, for a third consecutive term on June 8 Narendra Modi is likely to be sworn-in as the Prime Minister.
Modi will be the second leader to retain power for a third term after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, if NDA forms the government.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi chaired a meeting of the Union Cabinet to take stock of the Lok Sabha election results and also discussed about the formation of the next government, according to the media sources.
