As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) prepares for a key meeting to discuss forming the next government at the Centre, its alliance partners have expressed strong support for the BJP-led coalition.
Chirag Paswan, the leader of the Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJPRV), has won the Hajipur seat in Bihar. He emphasized his party’s commitment to the NDA and confirmed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is also dedicated to the alliance.
Paswan acknowledged that the NDA didn’t achieve all its goals but stressed the coalition’s unity and readiness to form the government. “Narendra Modi will continue as Prime Minister for a third term,” he said.
In Bihar, the LJPRV was allocated five seats: Hajipur, Vaishali, Jamui, Samastipur, and Khagaria. Candidates from the party have secured victories in all these constituencies.
Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde declared that the NDA has secured enough seats to prove its majority. He confirmed his support for Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing that the new government will be formed under Modi’s guidance.
Shinde dismissed claims by opposition parties about forming the government, pointing out that they lack the necessary numbers. Shiv Sena has won seven seats in Maharashtra, including Buldhana, Aurangabad, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai North West, Maval, and Hatkanangale.
Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), announced that his party, which won 16 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, will be joining the NDA. Naidu affirmed his attendance at the NDA meeting, signaling a firm commitment to the coalition.
JDU’s Commitment
Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar also confirmed that the NDA will form the government. Despite being seen with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav recently, Kumar reiterated his allegiance to the NDA. The JDU has won 12 seats in Bihar.
The Lok Sabha elections were held in seven phases, starting on April 19 and concluding on June 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 240 seats out of the 543-member Lok Sabha. The BJP’s allies have won a combined total of 53 seats, which includes the TDP (16), JDU (12), Shiv Sena (7), LJPRV (5), and other smaller parties.
With these numbers, the NDA is poised to form the government, with Narendra Modi set to continue as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. The upcoming NDA meeting will solidify these plans and outline the next steps for the coalition.
