Bharatiya Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his message expressed his gratitude to the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, after the CEO congratulated him on his electoral victory in Lok Sabha 2024. Narendra Modi, elected for the third time as Prime Minister in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, gave a response to Musk’s message on the social media platform X.
Modi highlighted the possibility and potential of youth in Bharat, demographic advantages, stable policies, and democratic system to create a favorable business environment, in his post. With this he wrote, “I appreciate your greetings @elonmusk. The talented Indian youth, our demography, predictable policies and stable democratic polity will continue to provide the business environment for all our partners.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk, earlier congratulated Prime Minister Modi on his victory in a post on X. He showed his eagerness about the scopes for his companies in Bharat. He stated, “Congratulations, Narendra Modi on your victory in the world’s largest democratic elections! Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India”.
Moreover, reports also shows that Tesla is considering setting up manufacturing plants in Bharat, in Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu. This investment between Bharat and Tesla is expected to be around $2 billion or $3 billion. Previous year, Tesla also made an announcement plans to build a factory in Bharat to produce a car priced around Rs 17,30,000.
Tesla CEO who was initially scheduled to visit Bharat in April this year but later on he postponed his trip, and instead opt to visit China. He cited heavy obligations at Tesla as the reason for the delay but then assured that he looks forward to visiting Bharat later this year.

The Bharatiya government is actively boosting and promoting domestic manufacturing in the electric vehicle sector. Moves like FAME, launched in 2019, also reductions in import taxes for manufacturers who invest at least USD 500 million and start manufacturing within three years, are part of these efforts.
All over, Narendra Modi’s interaction with Musk shed light on the progressive interest of international companies in Bharat’s market and the efforts made by government to establish better business environment.
