Delhi Police Adds Fresh IPC Section In Swati Maliwal Assaultgate. The Delhi Police has added fresh action against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar in Swati Maliwal Assaultgate.
The Delhi Police has accused Bibhav of removing the evidence of the case and giving false information.
Bibhav Kumar has been accused of Rajya Sabha MP and former DCW chief Swati Maliwal. Swati Maliwal has alleged that Kumar attacked her with full force, slapped and kicked her when she had gone to meet Arvind Kejriwal at the CM’s official residence in the national capital.
Following this, Bibhav Kumar was arrested on May 18 and is presently lodged in Tihar jail.
Delhi Police has added the IPC section for disappearing evidence and giving false information against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumae in AAP MP Swati Maliwal’s assault case.
Section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been added in the case. Section 201 carries a provision for imprisonment of one-sixth of the punishment for the biggest offence in the crime.
Earlier, Bibhav Kumar, has been sent to three days of police custody by the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi. This decision comes in connection with the assault case filed by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar had previously been in judicial custody until today.
On May 27, the court rejected Kumar’s bail application, prompting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to announce that they would pursue bail for him in the high court.
Kumar’s anticipatory bail plea, submitted on May 18, was rendered ineffective by his subsequent arrest.
