On Monday, survivors of the horrific terror attack in Reasi recounted their terrifying ordeal to authorities and the media. They revealed that the terrorists continued shooting at them even after their bus plunged into a deep gorge, forcing the passengers to play dead to stay alive.

The victims were Hindu pilgrims traveling to Vaishno Devi from Shiv Khori in Jammu and Kashmir. Nine people lost their lives, and 33 others were injured in the brutal attack.

Authorities reported that the terrorists ambushed the bus, firing from multiple directions. The bus tumbled into the gorge when the driver, struck by a bullet, lost control of the vehicle.

One eyewitness, speaking to news media, described the relentless assault that lasted for approximately 20 minutes after the bus had crashed. “After visiting Mata Vaishno Devi, I went to Shiv Khori. On our way back, just 4-5 kilometers from there, bullets started raining on our bus. Even after the bus fell into the ditch, the firing continued. The driver was shot, and many were injured in the attack,” a survivor recounted to ANI.

Another survivor confirmed the persistent gunfire, stating, “While returning from Shiv Khori, some people opened fire on our bus. The bus then fell into a ditch, injuring many. The shooting didn’t stop even after the fall. I believe there were 2-3 terrorists. My son saw a man shooting at our bus from behind.”

An eyewitness informed the channel that the bus was attacked by 6-7 terrorists who fired from all sides of the road. When the bus fell into the gorge, the terrorists continued firing. The passengers remained silent, pretending to be dead to avoid further harm.
