Union Minister S Jaishankar engaged in significant diplomatic discussions on Monday with key leaders from neighboring countries. These meetings followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony for his third term and aimed to bolster diplomatic ties between Bharat and its neighboring nations.

During his meeting with Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afif, Jaishankar expressed his optimism for enhancing the partnership between Bharat and Seychelles. He highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Jaishankar’s discussions with Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay focused on the unique and multifaceted friendship shared between Bharat and Bhutan. Both leaders emphasized the depth of their bond and pledged to further strengthen cooperation.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Jaishankar discussed the growing facets of cooperation between Bharat and Nepal. They expressed satisfaction with the progress and committed to advancing bilateral relations across various domains.

Jaishankar’s meeting with Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth reflected the special bond between Bharat and Mauritius. Their conversation underscored the historical ties and the shared commitment to fostering closer cooperation.

Following these engagements, Jaishankar also met with Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Discussions centered on strengthening ties and fostering closer cooperation between Bharat and these nations.

Jaishankar concluded his diplomatic rounds by meeting Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Both leaders acknowledged the steady progress in Bharat-Sri Lanka relations and expressed their commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation.
