On Wednesday the security forces eliminated a second terrorist who was hiding in a village in Jammu & Kashmir’s Kathua district.
Earlier a CRPF soldier was martyred in action and a terrorist was eliminated during an encounter after a village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua came under attack late night on Tuesday.
Two encounters that started overnight in Jammu & Kashmir have continued into the morning. One of these incidents, in Doda, resulted in injuries to five soldiers and a special police officer (SPO) during the initial shootout.
In a separate terror attack in Doda district, three security personnel were injured during an exchange of firing after the terrorists targeted a joint checkpost of the 4 Rashtriya Rifles and the police on the Bhadarwah-Pathankot road late Tuesday night.
This is the third incident in three days in Jammu. Previously, terrorists targeted civilians in Kathua injuring one, and pilgrims on a bus in Reasi killing nine.
During the shootout, one terrorist was also eliminated in Kathua last night, said Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, who is supervising the anti-terrorist operation.
Briefing about the Doda incident, he said terrorists opened fire at a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in Chattargala area last night.
