On June 13, 1943, freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose began his journey from Germany to Tokyo by submarine. Prior to this, he had met Adolf Hitler in Germany to seek support for the Indian freedom struggle. Hitler agreed and advised Bose to also seek assistance from his ally, Japan. Consequently, Netaji set out to reach Japan by submarine, accompanied by Captain Musenberg and his secretary, Abid Hasan. The submarine, named U-181, departed from Kiel port in Hamburg, Germany, heading towards Japan. This journey was both bold and extremely dangerous, as the oceans were filled with submarines from Allied nations like the United States and Britain during World War II. Despite these risks, Subhash Chandra Bose successfully reached Japan in July 1943. Once in Japan, Netaji intensified his efforts for Indian independence and reorganized the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army). He received substantial support from the Japanese government, and the headquarters of the Azad Hind Fauj was established in Singapore.

Babarao led an armed movement against the British colonial government in India and inspired Veer Savarkar to form the revolutionary organization Abhinav Bharat. When Veer Savarkar went to England, Babarao took over the work of Abhinav Bharat. The British sentenced him to Kala Pani for his participation in the movement against British rule. For 20 years, he endured unbearable torture in the cramped cell of Cellular Jail in the Andaman Islands. In 1921, he was brought to Gujarat and, after being kept in Sabarmati Jail for a year, was released. Following his release, he began advocating for Hindu nationalism. He feared that alongside the independence of India, the issue of partition could arise and believed that the majority should unite to prevent this. With this mission, he helped shape the direction of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
