President Droupadi Murmu held a significant meeting with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of State Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, and Minister of State Sukanta Majumdar at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday. During the meeting, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M Scindia, accompanied by Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, and Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region, Sukanta Majumdar, conferred with President Droupadi Murmu.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, a prominent political figure and descendant of the former royal family of Gwalior, assumed the role of Union Minister of Communications and Minister of Development of the North Eastern Region recently. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2020 after a long tenure with the Congress party, bringing with him a significant political following from Madhya Pradesh.
Scindia began his political journey in 2002 and has served as a Member of Parliament for multiple terms, both in the Lok Sabha and currently in the Rajya Sabha. In the recent 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he secured victory from Madhya Pradesh’s Guna constituency with a substantial margin. His family has a longstanding connection with the Guna constituency, known for its historical ties to the Scindia family, particularly his grandmother, Vijaya Raje Scindia.
