On Tuesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his first visit to Varanasi after being re-elected as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, released the 17th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme amounting to more than Rs 20,000 crores to around 9.26 crore beneficiary farmers.
So far, more than 11 crore eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs. 3.04 lakh crore under PM-KISAN.
During the event, the Prime Minister also granted certificates to more than 30,000 women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) as Krishi Sakhis
Starting his address to the people at the Kisaan Sammelan, PM Modi said, After winning election, I have come to Varanasi. I bow to Kashietes, Baba Kashi Vishwanath and Maa Ganga’.
PM Modi said to the people of Varanasi, ‘This election presents strength of Bharat before the world. Nowhere else in the world such a big election take place. In this election, 64 crore people cast their votes’.
PM Modi said in Varanasi, ‘Indian voters are two and a half time more than the voters for entire European union countries, if they counted together. I thank people of Kashi for making this festival of democracy successful. I am thankful to the people of Kashi who elected the PM for the third time’.
PM Modi said, ‘In very few country, it has happened that the government makes hattrick, In India, it so happened 60 years ago, But public has given us their blessing for the third time to serve them’.
PM Modi said, ‘I have considered Kisan, Naujawan and women as strong pillars of resolution to make India developed country’.
PM Modi said in Varanasi, ‘A big step has been taken to make 3 crore women Lakhapati Didis. As Krishi Sakhi, they will be empowered’.
