Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have agreed to strengthen the relationship between their two countries. This agreement was made during Putin’s visit to Pyongyang on Wednesday, which was his first visit to North Korea in 24 years. North Korean state media reported that their meeting showed a strong and lasting friendship between North Korea and Russia.
Kim Jong Un welcomed Putin at Pyongyang airport early in the morning. They greeted each other with a handshake, a hug, and a conversation beside Putin’s plane, they rode together in the same limousine and walked into Putin’s hotel together.
During this visit, Putin promised to deepen trade and security ties with North Korea. He also expressed support for North Korea against the United States. The North Korean state news agency, KCNA, emphasized the strong unity between North Korea and Russia, describing their relationship as “invincible and durable.”
As per the North Korean reports, the strengthened relationship between the two countries is seen as a “strong strategic fortress.” This means that their partnership is important for maintaining international justice, peace, and security. It is also viewed as a significant step towards building a new multi-polar world, where multiple countries have influence and power.
Despite the positive tone of the meeting, there are concerns from other countries. Officials in Washington and Seoul believe that North Korea has supplied weapons to Russia to help in the conflict in Ukraine. Both Moscow and Pyongyang have denied these claims, but they have also committed to increasing their military ties, which might include joint military exercises.
The visit and agreement between Putin and Kim signal a significant shift in international relations, shedding light on the growing alliance between Russia and North Korea. This development could have major implications for global politics, especially in terms of security and trade.
