Former President Bill Clinton and current President Joe Biden are combining their efforts once again to gather campaign funds, with a joint fundraiser scheduled for Tuesday aiming to raise a substantial $8 million. This event is part of a broader fundraising push that has seen Biden’s reelection campaign secure approximately $40 million over the past five days alone.
The lion’s share of this impressive sum, as confirmed by a Biden campaign official, stemmed from a star-studded event in Los Angeles last Saturday. This glamorous affair, featuring Biden alongside former President Barack Obama, managed to pull in over $30 million in donations.
In parallel, First Lady Jill Biden has been actively participating in her own fundraising efforts, contributing an additional $1.5 million to the campaign’s coffers.
Tuesday’s fundraiser, headlined by Biden and Clinton, is hosted at the residence of former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, a longtime advisor to Clinton. Also in attendance are Jill Biden and former First Lady Hillary Clinton, adding to the event’s allure.
The recent Los Angeles fundraiser stands out as a record-breaking event in the history of the Democratic Party, attended by notable personalities such as actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts, alongside political heavyweights Biden and Obama.
Biden’s campaign has significantly intensified its fundraising activities, likely in response to the growing financial prowess of his potential Republican challenger, Donald Trump. Trump recently raised a substantial $50.5 million at an April gathering of major donors hosted at the Florida home of billionaire investor John Paulson.

Reports from the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee indicate an impressive haul of $141 million in May alone, boosted by a surge in donations following Trump’s legal troubles.
As the 2024 election cycle heats up, both Biden and Trump are aggressively courting donors to bolster their war chests, setting the stage for what promises to be a highly competitive and financially robust campaign season.
The Biden campaign has not yet disclosed its fundraising figures for May, leaving observers eagerly anticipating how these numbers will compare to the formidable sums reported by the Trump camp.
