With the Jharkhand Assembly elections approaching in November, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure victory and form the government in the state.
“As we know there is an election in November in Jharkhand. The core committee discussed strategies for the next five months, and given the BJP’s success in winning nine seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, the team is confident of forming the government. However, we must work together and move forward with a solid strategy to win the seats where we previously faced defeat,” mentioned CM Himanta Sarma.

This statement came after the CM was appointed co-in-charge of the Jharkhand BJP, alongside senior leader and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who was named the in-charge for the State ahead of the upcoming elections.
A crucial meeting of the BJP’s Jharkhand Core Committee was held at the party’s Delhi headquarters, chaired by BJP National President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Tuesday.
Party sources revealed that the central leadership has directed a focused effort to address past mistakes, particularly those from the Lok Sabha elections, and to mobilise full strength for the upcoming assembly polls scheduled for November-December.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Jharkhand BJP chief Babulal Marandi highlighted the discussions on the party’s challenges and strategies for the elections.
The meeting was also attended by Organisation Minister Karmaveer, BJP in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee, former State president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash, former Union Minister Arjun Munda, and Union Ministers Annapurna Singh and Sanjay Seth.
