On Wednesday the Jammu & Kashmir Police made the first arrest on the June 9 Reasi terror attack case. The senior superintendent of police, Mohita Sharma informed that the one arrested is not the mastermind but played a significant role in the attack.
Din is a resident of Rajouri and is suspected to have provided logistics to the terrorists for the attack for Rs 6,000. A bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori cave shrine to Katra in Reasi district came under terrorist attack in Teryath village in the Pouni area on June 9.
Nine people lost their lives and 33 others were injured. Fifty people were detained in connection with the investigation into the terror attack.
To ensure a comprehensive investigation, the search operation to track down the terrorists, has been expanded to cover Reasi district’s far-flung Arnas and Mahore areas which were terrorist hotbeds between 1995 and 2005.
The spokesperson said, ‘Significant leads have been uncovered, aiding in the identification and capture of those who may be involved in orchestrating the attack. To ensure a probe, search operations have been expanded to cover the far flung areas of Arnas and Mahore, said the spokesperson.
He said these operations aim to uncover further evidence and apprehend terrorists who may be hiding in these remote regions.
