BJP MP Manoj Tiwari has criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of mismanaging the water crisis in the national capital. Tiwari claimed that Kejriwal has allowed water meant for the public to be stolen by tanker mafias.
Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Tiwari alleged that Kejriwal has not taken serious measures to address the falling groundwater levels in Delhi. He emphasized that rainwater harvesting is a viable solution that Kejriwal has ignored. “Arvind Kejriwal hasn’t addressed the declining groundwater issue. Instead, he has handed over the water to tanker mafias. Future generations of Delhi will not forgive him,” said Tiwari.
Tiwari also pointed out the dire state of the Yamuna River, which he said is currently dry and filled with drain water. He criticized Kejriwal for not taking steps to prevent water from flowing into the river. “The Yamuna is dry, filled with drain water, and Kejriwal has no plan to stop this. The people of Delhi need to wake up to this mismanagement,” Tiwari added.

Earlier on Wednesday, the BJP organized a protest to highlight the water crisis. The protest took place at Indira Camp in Kalyan Vihar, with participation from Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Bansuri Swaraj, and Praveen Khandelwal.
Statements from BJP Leaders
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva accused the Delhi government of corruption and claimed that the Haryana government had supplied surplus water, which was not utilized properly by the AAP government. “The Delhi administration is corrupt. Haryana provided surplus water, but AAP leaders are engaged in water black marketing,” said Sachdeva.
Bansuri Swaraj, another BJP leader, accused the AAP government of deceiving the public with false promises. She highlighted that many residents are forced to use dirty water due to the crisis. “The situation is dire. People are using dirty water because there’s no consumable water. AAP has fooled the people with fake promises for the past ten years,” said Swaraj.

The water crisis has become a major political issue in Delhi, with both parties blaming each other for the situation. The BJP insists that the AAP government has failed to tackle the tanker mafia and ensure adequate water supply. Meanwhile, the AAP baselessly accuses the BJP of orchestrating the shortage to discredit the Delhi government.
