A massive tragedy was averted after a fire broke out at a pantry car of a train near Secunderabad railway station in Telangana on Thursday.
The fire incident occurred when the train was parked on Alugadda Bavi tracks near Secunderabad railway station. However, there were no immediate reports of any injuries and casualties as there was no one inside the pantry car when the mishap took place.
The fire department pressed fire tenders into service to carry out the dousing operations. The flames were eventually brought under control. The fire and smoke had also spread in two AC bogies also.
Visuals have emerged from the fire scene wherein huge plumes of smoke can be seen emanating from the coaches. The firefighters used the ladders to reach the affected area and control the fire from spreading to other coaches parked there.
The exact cause behind the fire incident is not clear yet.
