The government has taken action in the NEET paper leak. Bihar Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan has been summoned to Delhi. He has been called by the Home Ministry and the Ministry of Education for information on the case. In Patna, mastermind Amit Anand, involved in the paper leak, has also been arrested, admitting to his role in leaking the paper. In exchange for leaking the paper, he took 30-32 lakh rupees from students.
Bihar EOU has interrogated over 60 people so far in the NEET paper leak case and has arrested 13 individuals. Students have also been questioned. Meanwhile, Amit Anand, who orchestrated the paper leak, stated in his confession that he had facilitated paper leaks previously as well. He mentioned that a junior engineer named Sikandar had sent him four students who wert from EOU on the NEET paper leak.
According to the media reports, the Ministry of Education on Wednesday sought a report from Bihar Police’s Economic Offenses Unit regarding alleged irregularities during the NEET exam conducted in Patna. A senior official of the ministry stated that a report has been sought from EOU in Patna regarding irregularities during the NEET exam.
Further action will be taken by the government after receiving the report. The government is committed to the integrity of examinations and the welfare of students. Allegations of fraud have been leveled against the NEET exam.
The NEET exam was conducted on May 5 at 4,750 centers across the country. Around 24 lakh students participated in this exam. The results were initially expected to be announced on June 14, but were declared on June 4 due to faster evaluation of answer sheets. However, after the results were announced, allegations of paper leaks and irregularities during the exam surfaced. Protests against this were held in several cities. Cases have also been filed in High Courts and the Supreme Court.
