On Friday, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received a warm reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, marking the start of her two-day state visit to India. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several ministers and delegates from both nations, greeted PM Hasina at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Among the dignitaries present were External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister JP Nadda, and Ministers of State Jitendra Singh and Kirti Vardhan Singh.
PM Hasina’s visit, at the invitation of PM Modi, aims to further strengthen the longstanding ties between India and Bangladesh. According to Randhir Jaiswal, the Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, this visit is expected to significantly boost the bilateral partnership between the two countries.

During her visit, PM Hasina is scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with PM Modi and will also meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. These meetings are aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors and reaffirming the close relationship shared by India and Bangladesh.
The visit is particularly significant as it is the first incoming bilateral state visit following India’s recent parliamentary elections. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the importance of PM Hasina’s visit, highlighting the deep and enduring ties between the two neighboring nations.
