On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the ‘Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme’ (FTI-TTP) at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. This new initiative aims to streamline the immigration process for registered trusted travelers, allowing them to bypass queues and complete immigration without human intervention.
Eligible individuals can apply online for the FTI-TTP. The application requires submission of biometrics, including fingerprints and facial images, along with other necessary information. After the verification process and confirmation of eligibility, applicants will need to pay a processing fee.
Once approved, these travelers will no longer need to stand in long immigration lines upon arrival in India. Special lanes will be dedicated to trusted travelers for a quicker immigration process.
The program is designed specifically for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. It aims to make travel faster, easier, and more secure for these groups. The processing fee for the FTI-TTP is Rs. 2,000 for adult Indian nationals, Rs. 1,000 for minors, and $100 for OCI cardholders. The fee is non-refundable.
Applicants must ensure all information provided in the application form is accurate. Any incorrect or false information, or concealing material facts, will result in the rejection of the application. In addition, if biometrics cannot be captured due to technical reasons, the application will also be rejected. Once approved, the FTI registration will be valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

The FTI-TTP is similar to the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) trusted traveler program, which also allows expedited clearance for pre-verified, low-risk travelers. This initiative by the Indian government highlights its commitment to enhancing travel convenience and efficiency for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders.
The launch of the FTI-TTP by Amit Shah at IGI Airport marks a significant step towards modernizing the travel experience for eligible travelers. By reducing wait times and streamlining the immigration process, the program aims to provide a more efficient and secure travel experience for those who qualify.
