AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi was heard chanting “Jai Palestine” as he took oath  as a member of the 18th Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

Owaisi, who was sworn in as a member of the Lok Sabha for the fifth time, later said in a post on X that he would continue to raise issues of India’s marginalised with sincerity. Significantly, the issue of the Palestine does not directly incline with the marginalised of India of whom Owaisi seems to be the voice for. Lok Sabha Speaker Owaisi’s remarks have been expunged from Parliamentary records, after Lok Sabha Chair moved to strike Owaisi’s remarks.

Behind the chants of Jai Shree Ram, Owaisi took his oath in Urdu and ended it by saying “Jai Bhim, Jai Meem, Jai Telangana, Jai Palestine”.

In 2019, Owaisi concluded his oath with the words “Jai Bhim, Allah-o-Akbar and Jai Hind”.
