A terrorist was killed on Wednesday during an ongoing security operation in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, according to reports. The operation is still active as security forces continue to hunt for other terrorists who were with the slain militant.
The identity of the killed terrorist has not been confirmed yet, but it is suspected that he might be a foreign national.
The large-scale operation was launched following an incident on June 11 and 12, when a group of terrorists opened fire at a security forces check post. The surprise attack resulted in injuries to over six security personnel. In response, authorities decided to carry out extensive searches in various parts of the Doda district to find and neutralize the attackers.
This morning, security forces detected the movement of a group of terrorists in the Bajar Sinnu area of Gandoh. Acting swiftly, they moved towards the suspected location. As the soldiers approached, the terrorists tried to escape while firing at the security forces. The soldiers returned fire, leading to the death of one terrorist.

Jammu region has seen a sharp increase in terrorist activities in recent months. On June 9, a devastating attack occurred when terrorists fired indiscriminately at a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori temple to Katra in Reasi. The attack killed nine people and injured over 33 others. The bus lost control and plunged into a deep gorge near the Teryath village in the Poni area.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently investigating the June 9 attack. Several suspects have been detained, and the sketch of the prime suspect has been released.
Security forces remain vigilant and determined to eliminate terrorist threats in the region, ensuring the safety and security of the residents and pilgrims.
