In a development in the NEET paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made its first arrests. On Thursday, Manish Prakash and Ashutosh Kumar were apprehended in Patna after being summoned for questioning. This follows widespread uproar nationwide, with the Opposition raising concerns outside parliament.
Manish Prakash, identified as a prime accused, allegedly arranged the booking of Learn and Play School in Khemni Chak, Patna. This school was booked a day before the NEET exam, where a half-burnt NEET question paper was discovered, serving as crucial evidence in the investigation.

The investigation has also led to the remand of two other suspects, Chintu and Mukesh, who were transferred from Beur Jail to undergo medical examinations before being taken into CBI custody. Earlier this week, the CBI secured a seven-day remand for Chintu and Mukesh, part of its broader effort with teams deployed in Nalanda, Samastipur, and Hazaribagh.
Currently, eight individuals, including the principal of Oasis School, are undergoing questioning in connection with the case. The unfolding investigation aims to uncover the extent of the alleged leak and bring clarity to the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The arrests mark a critical step in the ongoing probe, signaling intensified efforts by the CBI to address concerns raised by the alleged NEET paper leak. As investigations continue, authorities are expected to delve deeper into the roles of those involved, aiming to ensure transparency and accountability in the conduct of national-level examinations.
