The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made its first arrest in the NEET paper leak case, apprehending Manish Prakash and Ashutosh Kumar after summoning him for questioning.
The arrest of Manish was officially communicated to Prakash’s wife by phone. Manish Prakash is one of the prime accused in the NEET paper leak case. He arranged the booking of Learn and Play School through his friend Ashutosh for exam candidates a day before the NEET exam.
The half-burnt NEET question paper found at the Learn and Play School in Khemni Chak, Patna, is one of the key pieces of evidence in the NEET paper leak case.
Significantly, Manish Prakash booked this school for one night. The burnt question papers found at this school formed the basis of the Patna Police and the Economic Offenses Unit’s (EOU) investigation theories.
The EOU team continuously sought information about the burnt question papers from the NTA, eventually determining that the paper was leaked from the Oasis School examination center in Hazaribagh.
Meanwhile, the CBI has taken two other suspects, Chintu and Mukesh, into remand. They were moved from Beur Jail and underwent medical examinations before being taken to the CBI office.
Earlier this week, the CBI secured a seven-day remand for accused Chintu and Mukesh. Two CBI teams are deployed in Nalanda and Samastipur, and another team in Hazaribagh. Eight individuals, including the principal of Oasis School, are currently being questioned.
