Reliance Jio, a leading telecommunications company, announced that it will increase the prices of several of its prepaid plans starting July 3, 2024. This announcement has prompted many Jio users to quickly recharge their accounts with their favorite plans to avoid the upcoming higher prices.
However, Jio has removed two of its most popular plans: the Rs 395 plan and the Rs 1559 plan. These plans were favored by many users because they offered truly unlimited 5G data with long service validity periods. The Rs 395 plan provided 84 days of service, while the Rs 1559 plan offered 336 days of service.
Users who are looking to recharge their accounts can still do so and queue the new plans to be activated once their current plans expire. However, the Rs 395 and Rs 1559 plans are no longer available for recharge, even if they want to queue them for future use.

The price hike has also affected the base Rs 155 plan, which has now been increased by 22% to Rs 189. Jio aims to boost its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) figure with these changes. The Rs 395 and Rs 1559 plans, which were very cost-effective for users, would have posed a challenge to this goal.
Jio users should be aware of the upcoming tariff hike and the removal of the popular Rs 395 and Rs 1559 plans. While other plans can still be recharged and queued, the days of truly unlimited 5G data at those prices are over.
