The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also initiated criminal proceedings, underlining the government’s commitment to ensuring integrity in future exams.
Opposition leaders, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Deepender Singh Hooda, have criticized the government’s handling of the situation. They have demanded a special discussion in the Parliament to address the concerns raised over paper leaks and other irregularities.
Following multiple instances of alleged paper leaks and irregularities during the NEET (UG) 2024 examination, the CBI has stepped in to investigate. The agency’s investigation focuses on specific incidents reported across several states during the examination, which involved over 23 lakh candidates nationwide.
The controversy has sparked public protests, particularly in response to an unusually high number of perfect scores recorded in the exam.
Responding to these challenges, the Ministry of Education has formed a committee of experts to propose reforms aimed at enhancing the examination process’s integrity and data security measures. The government remains committed to addressing the concerns of students and ensuring fair opportunities for all aspiring candidates in future examinations.
This situation continues to evolve as stakeholders await further developments and legislative actions aimed at restoring trust and integrity in the country’s educational assessment systems.
