The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’ for South Gujarat, warning of the possibility of heavy showers on Saturday. The IMD explained that a cyclonic circulation over central Gujarat has moved to South Gujarat, extending up to 4.5 km above sea level and tilting southwards. This system is expected to bring significant rainfall to the region over the next five days.
Rainfall Predictions for Gujarat
The IMD predicts heavy showers in various districts, including Gandhinagar, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Navsari, and Valsad. In addition, heavy rain is expected in the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli on Sunday. The wet spell is anticipated to continue until July 3.
Given the heavy rain forecast, residents and travelers in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather reports. Authorities are likely to take additional measures to ensure safety and prevent further incidents related to heavy rainfall.
