In preparation for Tuesday’s Parliament session, Members of Parliament (MPs) from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) gathered for an important meeting. This meeting took place in the Parliament premises, with key figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President JP Nadda seen arriving early in the morning.
The meeting was held at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building (PLB).
Among the notable attendees were various NDA leaders including Giriraj Singh, Milind Deora, Kangana Ranaut, and Jayant Chaudhary. This gathering marks a significant moment as Prime Minister Modi is set to address the MPs for the first time during this session of Parliament, which is the first since he assumed office for a third consecutive term.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured its third term in office. The BJP itself won 240 seats, which is lower than its previous tally of 303 seats in 2019. Overall, the NDA won 293 seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc secured 234 seats. The Congress party, a major part of the opposition, won 99 seats.
The Lok Sabha witnessed a significant uproar on Monday due to remarks made by Rahul Gandhi. The BJP accused Rahul Gandhi, the MP from Raebareli, of “insulting” the Hindu community. Prime Minister Modi responded strongly, stating that calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter. Home Minister Amit Shah also demanded that Rahul Gandhi apologize for his remarks.
During the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s Address, Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP-led government, alleging a systematic attack on the idea of India. His speech sparked further controversy, leading to a series of press conferences from both sides.
The BJP held a press conference to denounce Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, while the Congress party held their press conference in the evening to criticize the ruling party.
In his speech, Rahul Gandhi launched a multi-pronged attack on the BJP, addressing various issues including remarks made during the Lok Sabha campaign, the NEET-UG controversy, and the Agniveer scheme. These remarks and the subsequent responses have set the stage for a heated and eventful Parliament session.
