On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Jagdish Devda of Madhya Pradesh will present the state budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the state assembly. This marks the first budget of the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
Ahead of the budget presentation, Finance Minister Devda conducted prayers at his residence, symbolizing the significance of the upcoming fiscal plan. He also showcased the traditional budget suitcase to the media, a customary ritual before budget announcements.

In an interview with ANI, Minister Devda expressed optimism about the budget’s focus on the people of Madhya Pradesh. He emphasized that the budget is crafted to serve all sections of society, including women, youth, farmers, and the economically disadvantaged.
“This budget is dedicated to the people and by the people. We have actively sought suggestions from the public, engaged with subject experts, and incorporated meaningful feedback into the budget,” Minister Devda stated. He highlighted the government’s commitment to inclusivity and progress under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s leadership.
The ongoing budget session of the Madhya Pradesh assembly commenced on Monday, scheduled to continue until July 19th. Today’s budget presentation is expected to outline comprehensive measures aimed at fostering development across various sectors of the state’s economy.
