As the student protests got intense surrounding the NEET paper leak on Wednesday with some detained by police in the national capital, PM Narendra Modi addressed the issue for the first time sending a firm message to the students around the country. While delivering his speech from the chamber of the Upper House, PM Modi on Wednesday assured students that the government will take strict action against those involved.
Meanwhile, student bodies including NSUI, AISF, and AISA today are holding a nationwide protest against the alleged NEET UG paper leaks. Congress leader and the Leader Of Opposition Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on July 2 wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting for a debate in Parliament on NEET today.
Today, in his motion of thanks to the president in Rajya Sabha, PM Modi sent a stern warning to those who are responsible for the NEET -UG Scam while he also stressed upon the need to punish the guilty. PM Modi assured that the government would strengthen the entire system to avoid any situation of apprehension in the future.
Apart from NEET-UG debate, PM Modi also addressed concerns of Manipur and that of West Bengal under TMC ruled government. Speaking on the Manipur crisis, the state that has been embroiled in violence and ethnic clashes for more than a year now, PM Modi affirmed that the government is constantly making every effort to bring the state back to normalcy. However, the Prime Minister also stated that currently, the incidents of violence and clashes are on the decline. Although the state is reeling under severe flood, so he added that every possible assistance is being provided to the Manipur government for the rescue and evacuation process.
Pertinently, on the chilling incident in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur area where a woman was publicly thrashed PM Modi slammed CM Mamata Banerjee and the INDI Alliance over their silence on the matter. Condemning the opposition’s selective attitude on atrocities against women, PM Modi highlighted the sorry state of Opposition in the country, which chooses to speak on certain atrocities, while maintaining sheer silence on other equal brutalities.
