On Thursday, Admiral Tripathi met with General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh, at the Bangladesh Army Headquarters in Dhaka. The two leaders discussed the robust and longstanding ties between India and Bangladesh, focusing on enhancing defence cooperation. They explored further avenues for collaboration, particularly in the areas of training and joint exercises between their armed forces.

Earlier in the visit, on Wednesday, Admiral Tripathi called on Air Marshal Hasan Mahmood, the Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force.

During their interaction, they highlighted the strong and long-standing ties between the two countries. They discussed initiatives for enhancing cooperation in training, joint exercises, and interoperability between the air forces of both nations.

Meeting with Security Advisor and Prime Minister

Admiral Tripathi also met with Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique (Retd), the Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Their discussions focused on enhancing defence cooperation and strengthening the long-standing relations between India and Bangladesh. They aligned their visions for the future, discussing Bangladesh’s Vision 2041, India’s Vision 2047: Viksit Bharat, and the Indo-Pacific Outlook of Bangladesh.

Further, the Indian Navy Chief called on Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday.
