Rainfall has brought relief from the hear in parts of India. The downpour has also provided relief to Delhiites who are waking up to cloudy skies lately.
Rains lashed several parts of Delhi and its adjoining areas, including Noida, on Friday, further bringing the temperatures down. The maximum temperature in the national capital on Friday settled at 33.2 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal.
According to the IMD, the weather department has predicted generally cloudy skies with light rain for today. Water level of different rivers in Bihar have started rising at several places due to torrential rain in the last 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain was recorded in many districts, including Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gaya, since July 4.
On Saturday Chandigarh received rain. The downpour brought the temperatures down. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in Kumaon division of Uttarakhand for today. Schools and anganwadi centres in all the six districts in region will remain closed today.
Delhiites woke up to cloudy skies on Saturday with the minimum temperature being recorded at 27.1 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches below the season’s average, as per the India Meteorological Department.
The maximum temperature is likely to settle around 33 degree Celsius, it said. As per IMD updates, the city will witness a wet weekend. In its seven-day forecast, the IMD said the city will receive light rain till July 7.
