US President Joe Biden’s problems seem to have taken a never-ending turn as many senior House Democrats have discussed that Biden should step down as their party’s 2024 White House nominee.
Reportedly they all got on a private phone call Sunday afternoon, according to the media reports and plan to speak up publicly about their concerns on Monday.
The major concern is if Biden can carry on the work of a president for the next four years. Major media companies reported about the call for committee ranking members organised by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-NY.
Representative Jerry Nadler of New York, Adam Smith of Washington, Mark Takano of California and Joe Morelle of New York, were on the call and all of them believe that the 81-year-old should exit the presidential race
However, the lawmakers on the call are all top Democrats on House committees. Many top Democrats attended the call made just as lawmakers make their way to Washington on Monday.
Joe Biden has been at the centre of a storm since his presidential debate performance, where he fumbled and lost his train of thought several times.
There have been calls for him to step down but Biden is not ready to quit and want to stay in the race. Several Democrats went into panic mode after the debate and have been discussing whether Biden is fit to serve as president for four years, as by the end of the term he will be 86. There are also fears that he might not be able to beat Donald Trump in the November elections.
