Four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, succumbed to injuries sustained during a gunfight with terrorists on Monday night in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda, according to officials cited by news agency PTI. The encounter erupted when troops from the Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Operations Group of the J&K Police initiated a joint cordon and search operation in the Dhari Gote Urarbagi area of the Desa forest around 7:45 PM.
Officials reported that the clash resulted in injuries to four Army personnel, including the officer, and one police personnel. The initial exchange of fire lasted over 20 minutes.
The wounded were swiftly transported to a hospital, where their conditions were described as “critical.” In response, the Indian Army deployed additional troops to the area, and the operation was ongoing at the latest report.
