The third day of the Republican National Convention (RNC) concluded on Wednesday, July 17, at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum. Key speakers included Donald Trump Jr., Kai Trump, JD Vance, and his wife Usha. Donald Trump Jr. used inflammatory rhetoric, stating, “All hell has broken loose in America,” while JD Vance officially accepted Donald Trump’s nomination for vice president.
Vance criticized the Biden administration, saying, “People who govern this country have failed and failed again,” and outlined the Republican ticket’s themes: commitment to the working man, fighting for American citizens, rejecting energy dependence on hostile countries, promoting American manufacturing, and building factories domestically. Vance’s speech reinforced the “America First” platform championed by Trump, urging working-class voters to support Donald Trump over the Democratic Party.
Vance reflected on the divide between the ruling class and ordinary Americans, highlighting the impact of policy failures from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to the financial crisis. He praised Trump as “America’s last best hope to restore what, if lost, may never be found again.”
After accepting his nomination, Vance pledged to serve all Americans and to help achieve Trump’s vision for the country. He recalled the assassination attempt on Trump and praised his resilience and dedication to the nation.
Donald Trump Jr. took sharp swipes at Joe Biden, criticizing the “Build Back Better” plan and attacking the Democratic Party and media. He emphasized the struggles faced by Americans under the current administration, including rising costs and increasing crime.
Kai Trump described her grandfather as a caring and loving figure who is committed to making America great again. Other notable speakers included Trent Conaway, Mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who highlighted issues like energy prices, inflation, and border security.
