This incident follows an encounter in Doda where four Army personnel, including an officer, lost their lives while fighting terrorists. Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D. Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The July 16 attack in Doda was claimed by the “Kashmir Tigers,” a shadow group of the Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). This has heightened the alert level among security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, especially following a recent surge in terror activities in the Jammu region.
On July 14, the Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the LoC in Kupwara district, killing three terrorists. This operation was part of the ongoing efforts to prevent terrorists from crossing into Indian territory.
