The Indian embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, has advised Indian nationals in the country to “exercise caution” and stay in touch with the embassy. This advisory comes amid increasing tensions between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah.
Israeli Drone Strike in Southern Lebanon
On Monday, an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon killed two people, according to Reuters. This attack was in retaliation for a rocket strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday. That rocket strike had tragically resulted in the deaths of 12 teenagers and children. Both Israel and the US have accused Hezbollah of carrying out the attack.
In light of these recent events, the Indian embassy in Beirut released an advisory for Indian nationals. The embassy has provided an emergency phone number and an email ID for citizens to remain in contact. They emphasized the importance of staying in touch with the embassy and being cautious due to the ongoing situation.

Travel Warnings and Flight Cancellations
The advisory specifically mentioned: “In view of the recent developments in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in contact with the Embassy of India in Beirut through their email id: cons.beirut@mea.gov.in or the emergency phone number +96176860128.”
Additionally, there have been flight cancellations and delays at Beirut airport. The Associated Press reported that these disruptions are due to fears that the conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah could escalate into a full-scale war.
The situation in Lebanon remains tense, and the Indian embassy is taking steps to ensure the safety of its nationals. Indians in Lebanon are urged to follow the embassy’s advice closely and to stay informed about any further developments.
