Do you enjoy eating pizzas and burgers? Could you manage to eat 10 of them in just two minutes? What about 60 or 70 hot dogs in ten minutes? It might sound impossible, but people have done it—like setting the world record with 76 hot dogs. Normally, our appetite can handle only 6 or 7 of these at a time. Yet, in competitive eating events, people push their limits to consume as much food as possible in a short time. This might seem impressive, but it comes at a high cost, including, ironically, a lack of hunger.
