The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain alerts for several states including Delhi, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, the IMD has issued a very heavy rain alert for several other regions, including Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Assam, and Meghalaya.
An orange alert has been issued for Delhi, indicating heavy rainfall and waterlogging in the National Capital and rainfall is expected to be there till 5th August. IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and East Madhya Pradesh for August 2nd.
IMD issued alerts for the western coastal region including parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa as it is expected to receive heavy rainfall until 3rd August. In Northern India, very heavy rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand until August 3.
Heavy rainfall is forecasted in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan until August 4. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Uttar Pradesh on August 2-3, in Punjab and Haryana on August 2.
The National Capital received 107.6 mm of Rainfall between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
