The Army Chief of Bangladesh, Waker-uz-Zaman has addressed the country amid the ongoing protests in the country. The Army Chief has accepted that PM Sheikh Hasina has resigned and has also requested the protestors to end the protest and that their demands will be heard.
Waker-uz-Zaman has also said that an interim government will be formed and the political transition is underway. An interim government will be formed and all murders will be judged. Trust the army. We have held meetings with political party leaders.
The army chief said to the people, maintain peace and order in the country. You trust me, let’s work together. Please help. I won’t get anything by fighting. Avoid conflict. Together we have built a beautiful country.
In response to the question of the journalists, the army chief said that he had a meeting with bnp, jatiya party and jamaat-e-islami. Teachers afis nazrul and jonayet saki were also present in the meeting.
Chief of army staff general Waqar-uz-Zaman said, ‘We will now go to Bangavabhan’. There will be a detailed discussion about the formation of the interim government. He advised the students to calm down.
