Islamists are consistently targeting Hindu homes, businesses and temples in Dhaka. In one of the videos shared by ‘Voice of Bangladeshi Hindus’, a woman can be seen narrating, ‘They came and looted our house. They took away our money, gold and whatever valuable that was left with us. They also abducted my 14-year-old boy’.
While breaking down in tears she narrated, ‘I don’t even know their identity and they vandalised our house and took everything away. They also beat us severely’
A man standing in the vicinity pointed out a mob of 10-12 men attacked their house. He said, ‘They beat me and made me sign on an empty stamp paper. They also sought a ransom of Rs 10 lakh to return the boy’. However, the incident took place in Jessore district in southwestern Bangladesh.
In another Facebook video, ‘one Hindu woman narrated how her family was targeted overnight by Islamist mobs. She said that her 15-year-old brother was assaulted at knifepoint. They also stole Rs 3 lakh from the family’.
She narrated, ‘Look how they have vandalised our houses. Is this the work of a human? They are claiming that this is an independent country now. See what they have done to my underage brother’. ‘It’s a curse to be a Sanatani in Bangladesh. I, as a student, am asking why my house is being targeted’, continued the Hindu woman. She pointed out that 3-4 other Hindu houses were attacked in a similar way.
‘Who will give us justice? Who is there to protect us Hindus? Today, they are attacking me. Tomorrow, they will attack you. If we do not stand up to it now, then, we will not be able to survive tomorrow’.
Islamists released fear in Bangladesh. A total of 232 people were killed until the evening of 7th August and the total death toll has now crossed 550 in the past three weeks. The increasing number of violent attacks against Bangladeshi Hindus needs to be controlled as many innocents lose their lives.
