The ongoing controversy surrounding the Khedkar family has taken a new turn, with the Pune city police registering a case against Dilip Khedkar, the father of former IAS trainee Puja Khedkar. The case accuses him of interfering with the duties of a public servant.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Bundgarden Police Station under sections 186, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These sections cover offenses such as obstructing a public servant from performing their duties, insulting them to provoke a breach of the peace, and criminal intimidation. The FIR was based on a complaint by Tehsildar Deepak Akade, a government official.
According to the FIR, Dilip Khedkar put undue pressure on officials at the Pune Collectorate, where his daughter Puja began her probationary training in June 2024. He allegedly demanded that a specific office cabin and extra facilities be provided to his daughter, which is seen as an attempt to influence the functioning of the government office.
In response to these allegations, Pune Collector Suhad Diwase sent a report to the Maharashtra Government. The report highlighted the inappropriate behavior of both Puja and her father. As a result of the report, Puja was transferred to Washim to serve as a supernumerary assistant collector, which is a less prominent position.

The report by Collector Diwase detailed how Dilip Khedkar, a retired state government officer and a candidate for the Vanchit Bahujan Agadi party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Ahmednagar seat, accompanied his daughter to the collectorate. During this visit, he allegedly pressured officials to provide her with a specific office cabin.
This is not the first time the Khedkar family has faced legal issues. In a related case, both Dilip Khedkar and his wife, Manorama Khedkar, were named as accused in another FIR filed at Paud Police Station.
This case involved an alleged threat made against farmers in Dhadawali village under the Mulshi tehsil on June 5, 2023. Manorama was arrested in connection with this case, though she and her husband were later granted bail by the court.
